Nor did he reach it indirectly via the concerns linked to the rational reconstruction of towns and cities following the first world war. His quest tended towards an exhaustive study of the Secessionist style of which he was a fervent and gifted adherent. Let us not forget that he was a frequent visitor to the mansion built in Brussels between 1904 and 1909 for his close relatives by the Viennese architect Josef Hoffman.
